BY TRAIN

Cefalù is conveniently reachable by rail:

  • From the Central station of Palermo Cefalù can be reached in around 45 minutes, with an affordable ticket.
  • From the station at Messina travel times are longer, varying between 2 and 2 ½ hours.
  • We do not recommend travelling by train from the other main cities in Sicily.

    BY BUS

  • AST, the Sicilian Transport Company, connects Cefalù with the neighbouring towns of Campofelice, Castelbuono, Collesano and Isnello.
  • The SAIS agency offers a connection from Palermo to Cefalù by bus with various departures throughout the day. Tickets can be purchased online at their site.
  • Alternatively, it is possible to arrange private transfers to reach Cefalù from any part of Sicily.
  • BY CAR

    Palermo sits approximately 80 km from Cefalù and the journey takes about an hour.
    Cefalù can be reached using the A20 motorway, which runs along the North coast of the Island. From Palermo follow signs to Messina until you reach the Cefalù exit, at which point it is very straightforward and just a few minutes' drive to follow signs and reach the town centre.

  • Messina is approximately 175 km from Cefalù and the journey takes around 2 hours.
    Take the A20 towards Palermo and the Cefalù exit.
  • Trapani is approximately 180 km away. To reach Cefalù first bypass Palermo and then continue along the A20, allowing a little more than 2 hours in total.
  • Catania is approximately 180 km from Cefalù, which can be reached by taking the A19 motorway towards Palermo, exiting at Buonfornello and then taking the SS113, following signs for Cefalù.
